MGM Grand Lion Habitat in Las Vegas

Since MGM's trademark is a lion, it is particularly fitting that the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino features a lion habitat for visitors to observe the animals in their natural habitat. The lion habitat is located on the main casino floor of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

  1. Lions

    • Up to six lions are shown each day at the exhibit. The lions live approximately 12 miles away from the property on a ranch owned by Keith Evans, an animal trainer.

    Cost

    • The lion habitat is free to visitors. Because the exhibit is free, there is often a crowd around the lion habitat during the day and on weekends.

    Hours

    • The lion habitat is open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. The lions do not spend the night in the habitat so they cannot be seen in the evenings or early morning.

    Exhibit

    • The exhibit allows visitors to view the lions through glass that surrounds the habitat. A tunnel with a glass ceiling also goes through the habitat, allowing patrons to view the lions from below.

    Presentations

    • Trainers give presentations about the lions and their qualities. Trainers also remain with the lions during the exhibit to play and hand-feed them while visitors watch.
