Type in your departure and return city, and the dates of travel on Priceline.com. Enter the number of passengers traveling. Click "Search Now" to access the web page where you can compare prices on different flights and airlines.
Compare and write down the prices of different airlines. The prices that appear offer a reference point for the flight bid you will request in Step 4.
Select "Name Your Own Price" on the top left corner or at the bottom of the page. This directs you to the page where you can select airports to and from which you would like to fly. Select one airport or multiple airports within close proximity to where you are traveling to gain the cheapest rates.
Scroll down the page to the "Name Your Own Price" section. Enter the dollar amount you want to pay per round trip ticket. Begin by bidding at a 50 percent off discounted rate, according to the prices found in Step 2. Enter the passenger information of all travelers in your party. Click "Next."
Review your trip summary to verify that your travel plans are correct. Fill out your billing information on the bottom of the page. Include a valid e-mail address because your confirmation and e-tickets are sent through e-mail once the bid is accepted. Click "Buy My Tickets Now" to submit your bid.
Check your e-mail within 24 hours to see if your bid was accepted or denied. Complete the process again, offering a higher flight bid if your initial bid was denied.
