How Do I Book a Flight Flying Standby for Jetblue?

JetBlue is an American airline company that primarily operates domestic flights within the United States, but also flies to destinations in the Caribbean and South America. Flying on standby refers to waiting at the gate to see if other passengers miss the plane so that you can take their seat.
  1. Flight Conditions

    • In order to fly on standby with JetBlue or any other airline, the flight must be fully booked. Standby works on the principle that if several people miss their flight, those seats need to be filled.

    Ticket Conditions

    • You must already have purchased a ticket with JetBlue to fly on standby. If you have an itinerary with multiple destinations on the same day, you may request standby for the flight just prior to your flight. If your travel plans only include one destination on the same day, you may request to be put on standby for the flight departing the day before your flight.

    Request Conditions

    • You must make a standby request with JetBlue in person, at the airport and within 24 hours of your departure flight. JetBlue does not handle standby requests over the phone.
