How to Track Air Flights Over Seas

You might want to know the whereabouts of an international flight for a number of reasons. You may be waiting for the flight before yours so you know when to head for the airport. Or, you have a friend who is flying and you want to know where his flight is or when he lands. Fortunately, there is a way to track an overseas flight so you know the location of the plane and the time of its arrival or departure.

Things You'll Need

  • Location of flight destination
  • Airline name
  • Airline flight number

Instructions

    • 1

Contact the airline and ask for the specific flight information for the flight you want to track. Note that the airline may also be able to provide you the general location of the flight, too. If you need more specific information, such as a visual representation of the flight's location, proceed to Step 2.

    • 2

Find an online flight tracker using your Web browser. These flight trackers are capable of tracking almost any airline in the world. (See "Resources" for some options.)

    • 3

Enter the information of the airline, usually the airline name and flight number, into the website. This brings up a window with information, such as the general location of the flight, the departure time and estimated arrival time.
