It's also the newest (and perhaps the "greenest") airport in the United States, having just opened in May 2010. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, with parking rates as low as $7.50 per day as of September 2010 and free Wi-Fi inside, is one of Florida's wallet-friendliest and most comfortable airports. Along with the impressive assortment of shops and restaurants, it has a business center in every terminal, cheap baggage carts and plenty of attention for passengers with disabilities. Calling itself America's favorite airport, Tampa International's administration places heavy emphasis on providing a customer-friendly environment with helpful, attentive staff. TPA also offers free Wi-Fi access and numerous information booths throughout the Landside Building. People with disabilities receive a warm welcome and have the option of renting a wheelchair, while minor emergencies can be dealt with at one of the many first-aid stations. TPA serves 17 American airlines (including major airlines such as Delta, American and Continental, and numerous other budget and regional airlines) in addition to British Airways, Dutch KLM and Air Canada. Don't worry about a lengthy layover--TPA has plenty of shops, restaurants and diversions.
