Commercial services into Aiken, South Carolina and the surrounding CSRA are offered at Augusta Regional Airport. The airport, located 25 miles away in Augusta, Georgia, hosts regional flights from Delta, US Airways and American Eagle, with services to Dallas/Forth Worth, Atlanta and Charlotte as of 2010.
Connections at Atlanta's Hartsfield--Jackson International Airport, the world's busiest airport in 2006 (see Reference 1), allow passengers to reach destinations on every occupied continent.
Aiken's local airport is located five miles north of the city. Originally an army airfield during World War II, the airport was converted to civil use after the war ended.
Aiken Municipal Airport operates two runways. The airport does not offer commercial services but is open to recreational air traffic, averaging 120 flights per day in 2009. The airport is also used for flight training (see Reference 2).
Like Aiken Municipal Airport, Daniel Field Airport was originally operated as an army airfield in World War II. The airport was later converted to civil use and once hosted flights by Delta; however, there are no commercial services offered at the airport as of 2010. Instead, Daniel Field Airport is used as a base for Augusta Aviation, a charter airline. During the Masters golf tournament, Daniel Field also provides air traffic control services for the region (see Reference 3).

Twin Lakes Airport is a privately-owned airport near Graniteville, six miles from Aiken, South Carolina. The airport is open for public use, with a single asphalt runway. There is no control tower at Twin Lakes (see Reference 4).
Barnwell Regional Airport is located 33 miles from Aiken, just outside the city of Barnwell, South Carolina. The airport is one of many in the area that were converted from military to civilian use following World War II. It is maintained by Barnwell County and is open for public use as a general, recreational airport. There are no scheduled commercial services at Barnwell Regional (see Reference 5).
