If you need to fly to or from another country, you'll need to use an international airport. The international airports in South Carolina are among the best choices because of their proximity to desired entertainment and business locations, and because of their history of passenger satisfaction. As of February 2010, none of the international airports in South Carolina operate direct flights to or from any international destinations. However, each offers connecting flights to several international locations.
The Charleston International Airport is the largest of South Carolina's three major international airports. It accommodates nearly 2 million passengers per year, completing about 116 flights to 14 destinations every day. The Charleston airport is adjacent to the Charleston Air Force Base, so security tends to be excellent despite the large number of people served.

The Greenville-Spartanburg airport is in northern South Carolina just minutes from Interstate 85. The airport serves fewer passengers than the Charleston airport (about 1.5 million annually), but has expanded its runways to accommodate any aircraft currently in service as of 2010. Free Wi-Fi and the availability of business centers with fax and mail facilities make it ideal for the business traveler.

The Myrtle Beach International airport serves about 1 million people every year, making it the smallest of the three major South Carolina international airports. This airport is located in what is known as the "Grand Strand" of South Carolina, which is recognized for excellent beaches and golfing. For this reason, this airport is used mainly by tourists and vacationers.
