Airports in Montana

While none of Montana's airports is considered a major traffic hub, the three biggest airports in the state still service millions of air travelers every year. Serving business and leisure travelers for more than 60 years, Montana airports help residents stay connected via essential air service.

  1. Billings Logan International Airport (BIL)

    • Serving the Billings area and most of south central Montana, the Billings Logan International Airport is the largest commercial airport in the state. Established in 1928, the airport today acts as a hub to major cities including Salt Lake City, Seattle and Chicago, as well as to Canada. Among the top airlines that provide service at Billings Logan International are United, Northwest and Skywest.

It handles flights to major metropolitan areas in the West, including Denver, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Seattle, several Midwest hubs including Chicago and Minneapolis, and locations in Canada. The airport terminal is home to a full-menu restaurant, a snack bar and a gift shop. Gallatin Field Airport, established in 1941, has expanded to nearly 2,500 acres of structure and runways. Airlines that service the Missoula International Airport include United, Northwest and Sky West. The airport was first opened in 1941, replacing an earlier dirt-runway airport.
