T.F. Green Airport Information

T.F. Green Airport, located outside of Providence, Rhode Island, is Rhode Island's major airport. Some of its carriers include Air Canada, Continental, US Airways, Southwest and Delta.
  1. Car Travel to T.F. Green

    • Travelers to and from T.F. Green Airport can access the airport through Routes 95 and 295. From there, travelers can reach the greater Rhode Island area, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

    Public Transportation to T.F. Green

    • Air travelers leaving T.F. Green Airport can find hourly shuttles to Providence and buses to Kingston or Newport, Rhode Island. From Providence, travelers can reach the MBTA commuter rail to Boston or Amtrak.

    • T.F. Green Airport offers many restaurants and fast-food options, including Dunkin Donuts, TGI Fridays, Providence Oyster Bar, Starbucks and Quiznos.

    • Though T.F. Green Airport is currently small, future plans may indicate expansion. As of 2009, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation owns homes along the eastern side of the airport and has demolished several structures to pave way for growth.

    History

    • T.F. Green Airport is named for Theodore F. Green, a former senator and governor of Rhode Island. The airport was dedicated in 1931.
