Warsaw Airport Information

Warsaw's Chopin Airport opened in 1934 and has become one of the leading airports in Europe and the world. The airport currently services 45 percent of air passenger traffic in Poland. In 2009, the airport served about 8.3 million passengers.

    • Airport services include travel agencies, post office, bank, cash machines, currency exchange, car rentals and other ground transportation. There are also places to charge cell phones, obtain hotel and tourist information and purchase train and bus tickets.

    Shopping & Restaurants

    • Traditional duty-free shops, jewelers, newsstands, booksellers, souvenirs, clothing, travel accessories and more are available in the passenger area, while the public area offers a jeweler, newsstands and quick-stop food choices. Traditional Polish fare is offered at airport restaurants, and cafes and pubs can be found as well.

    For Kids

    • There are two playgrounds and nearby televisions feature Disney cartoons.

    Runways

    • Two intersecting asphalt-concrete runways and an instrument landing aid system ensure all types of passenger and cargo aircraft are able to land safely.
