Richmond Highway Express (REX), operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, offers an express bus service to Fort Belvoir from the King Street and Huntington Metro stations in Alexandria. It makes three stops in Alexandria and four in Fort Belvoir, with about a dozen stops in between.
The Fairfax Connector serves additional stops along Richmond Highway. Passengers may transfer from the Fairfax Connector to REX at one of its stops on Richmond Highway or at the King Street or Huntington stations.
As of October 2010, REX buses operate seven days a week, every 15 minutes during rush hour. Non-rush hour and Saturday buses are 30 minutes apart and on Sunday the buses operate every 60 minutes. Service hours for Mondays through Saturdays are 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Buses run on Sundays from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Connector buses run approximately 30 minutes apart.
