How to Travel by Bus From Washington D.C. to New York City

With Amtrak tickets at $100 or more each way, and the price of gas going up every day, the most economical and stress-free way to get from Washington, D.C. to New York City is by bus. In addition, many bus services offer amenities like free Wi-Fi and outlets, so you can work while you commute.   Submit your reservations to the company you have chosen. If you prefer to make the reservations over the phone, call the customer service number listed on the site's "contact" page. Make sure that the site is secure by looking for the "https" at the beginning of the URL if you are paying online.

  Arrive at the departure point with enough time to pick up your tickets and find your bus. Make sure you bring a form of identification and the credit card with which you paid. Board the bus and enjoy your ride.
