1998 Chevrolet Truck Specifications

Chevrolet has a long and successful heritage of motor vehicle production, from family cars, to powerful muscle cars and a wide range of trucks. In 1998, Chevrolet produced three main truck models that were all well rated.
  1. Chevrolet K3500

    • The K3500 was a large truck, measuring 237 inches long, with a width of 94.2 inches and a height of 73.3. The truck weighed around 5,824 pounds and had a turning circle of around 622.7 inches. It was powered by a 5.7-liter V8, front-mounted engine, which was capable of producing 255 horsepower and 330 foot-pounds of torque. Running on unleaded gas, the truck had a 34-gallon fuel tank. Its fuel economy was 13 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the open highway. The truck was rated to be able to carry up to 4,175 pounds. The K-3500 had six seats, giving it dual purpose as a potential family vehicle. The truck came with an anti-lock brake system as well as double rear wheels for added stability.

    Chevrolet S-10

    • The Chevrolet S-10 truck was a small pickup type, which measured 206.1 inches in length, 67.9 in width and 62.9 in height. The truck's weight was around 4,601 pounds, with a ground clearance of 6.6 inches and a turning circle of 477.5 inches. The S-10 was not a very powerful truck as it only had a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine. Top horsepower for the S-10 was around 120, and it only produced about 140 foot-pounds of torque. The maximum legal cargo carrying load was 1,523 pounds. Fuel economy ranged from 17 mpg in the city to 24 mpg on the open highway. The truck's fuel tank could hold up to 19 gallons. It was a three-seater truck, with very basic features, including anti-lock brakes and power steering.

    Chevrolet T-10

    • The Chevrolet T-10 was a small pickup that was 206.1 inches in length, 67.9 in width and 64.4 in height. It weighed in the region of 5,149 pounds, had 7.9 inches of ground clearance and a turning circle of 481.1 inches. It had a moderately powered 4.3-liter V6 engine which could produce 190 horsepower and 250 foot-pounds of torque. Its top cargo carrying weight was around 1,530 pounds. Fuel economy ranged from 15 mpg in the city to 18 mpg on the open highway. The truck's fuel tank held 19 gallons. With just three seats, the T-10 truck had basic features, including anti-lock brakes and power steering.
