Short Cruises From Tampa

The cruise port in Tampa is the largest in Florida. It harbors cruise ships from two major lines, Royal Caribbean and Carnival. The ships offer four- and five-day shorter cruises in and around the Caribbean.
  1. RCL Radiance of the Seas

    • Royal Caribbean offers sailings aboard the Radiance of the Seas round-trip from Tampa annually from December to April. The sailings alternate between four- and five-day trips. Both sailings have a port stop in Cozumel, Mexico and the five-day trip adds a port of call in Costa Maya, Mexico. The Radiance of the Seas was built in 2001 and updated in 2006, with a passenger capacity of over 2,500. The ship has a safari-themed decor, which carries through the interior bars and restaurants. In addition to the main dining room and buffet, guests can dine in two theme restaurants, the Chops Grille steakhouse and Portofino for italian cuisine.

    Carnival Inspiration

    • Carnival devoted the Inspiration to the port of Tampa in 2010. The ship offers a four-day sailing round-trip from Tampa with a stop in Cozumel, Mexico. The five-day trip adds a port of call in the Grand Cayman on the Cayman Islands. The ship was built in 1996 and last updated in 2007, holding up to 2,600 passengers per trip. The decor here is art nouveau, and sculptures adorn the seven story atrium as well as the bars and nightclubs. Nightlife is the focus here, with a rock and roll dance club, full piano bar and the on deck, adults only "Serenity" area.

    RCL Jewel

    • The Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas sails from Tampa annually between November and April. The four- and five-day round-trips from Tampa visit the same ports as the Radiance of the Seas, that is Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico. The Jewel of the Seas, built in 2004, is the newest of the ships offering short trips from Tampa. The Jewel also holds just over 2,500 passengers, with much of the ships surfaces made of glass for easy viewing of the open sea. The rock climbing wall and Adventure Ocean kids club are both big attractions for families.
