Why do people call Brisbane the CBD?

Brisbane is not commonly referred to as "the CBD". CBD stands for Central Business District, which is a term used to describe the main business area of a city. In the case of Brisbane, the CBD is located in the suburb of the same name, which is situated in the heart of the city.
