Go to the BART station in the International Terminal at SFO. From Terminals 1 and 3, either walk or take the free Red Line AirTrain to the International Terminal and take the escalator down to the Departures level. The BART Station will be straight ahead. International travelers coming from Customs will need to take the escalator up to the Departures level and turn left at the art exhibit to enter the BART Station.
Purchase a ticket to Millbrae Station. All BART stations have automatic ticket vending machines that accept coins and bills. Select machines also accept credit and debit cards.
Board the appropriate BART train.
If you are traveling during the week before 7 p.m., take the SFO/Pittsburg Bay Point Line towards Pittsburg/Bay Point and exit at the San Bruno Station. Switch lines and get on the Richmond/Millbrae Line heading towards Millbrae Station. Exit at Millbrae. Total ride time is about 10 minutes.
If you are traveling during the week after 7 p.m. or on the weekend, take the Pittsburg Bay Point/SFO Line towards Millbrae Station. Exit at Millbrae. Total ride time is around 4 minutes.
Change from BART to Caltrain at Millbrae Station (they are across the platform from each other).
Purchase a new ticket for passage from Millbrae Station to Santa Clara Station. Ticket vending machines for Caltrain accept coins, bills and credit or Visa/MasterCard debit cards.
Take the Caltrain Southbound toward Diridon Station, San Jose. Exit at Santa Clara Station. Approximate ride time is 1 hour.
Leave Santa Clara Station, walking northwest on Railroad Avenue to Railroad (Santa Clara Transit Center) and Transit Loop Bus Station, approximately 4 minutes.
Take Santa Clara VTA #10 Airport Flyer towards 1st and Metro, San Jose, boarding on the west corner of Railroad and Transit Loop Station. Exit on the east Corner of Airport And Terminal C. Approximate ride time is 14 minutes.
Walk south, then east down Airport Boulevard to San Jose International Airport, approximately 5 minutes.
