Tioga RV Towing Capacity

RVs, or recreational vehicles, provide freedom for those who enjoy bringing their home along on long road trips or vacations. In fact, the towing capacity of a RV, such as a Tioga, is an important consideration when researching a purchase. Some RV owners like to bring along a boat, a small car, ATV, personal watercraft or other equipment that needs to be towed behind the vehicle.
  1. Identification

    • A Tioga RV is a Class C type of RV manufactured by Fleetwood. This typical RV offers three different floor plans, spanning from 27 feet, 5 inches to 32 feet, 6 inches in length.

    Considerations

    • The towing capacity of the Tioga has changed in the past few years. In 2007, the towing capacity was rated at 3,500 lbs. But, as the 2009 models were introduced, the towing capacity rose to 5,000 lbs., and that remains the standard through the 2011 models.

    Significance

    • This larger towing capacity adds to the flexibility of the RV for hauling items, such as jet skis or a small vehicle. Keep in mind that all ratings should be adhered to for safety on the road.
