The 40- to 42-foot-long 2003 American Eagle motor home is an upscale, full-featured travel coach. The recreational vehicle is large enough to accommodate a family of four to six. An Eagle with low mileage and in good condition sells for around $250,000.
  1. Engine and Chassis

    • The 2003 Fleetwood American Eagle is built on a Spartan chassis and features a 400 horsepower 9.2-liter or a 10.9-liter 500-horsepower Cummins diesel engine. The motor home has air-assisted or air-ride suspension and a tag axle. An exhaust brake and steering stabilizer are standard.

    Floor Plan

    • The American Eagle features several different floor plans with dual slide-outs. Typically, there are two leather pilot chairs with a leather sofabed and lounger in the front. A dinette area with galley, kitchen counters and cabinetry occupies the middle area, followed by a shower and bathroom. The main bedroom and closet space is in the rear.

    Appliances and Entertainment

    • The American Eagle is equipped with a refrigerator, cooking range, microwave and washer and dryer. A 42-inch flat screen TV flips down from the ceiling. The RV has a multiple AM/FM stereo has a CD and DVD player with external speakers. The satellite television system has XM radio.
