Carpeting is the most common flooring in bedrooms and the living area. It is warmer under your feet than any of the other types and it feel comfortable on bare feet. Carpeting will stain and needs to be deep cleaned, and it will also hold odors like cigarette odors that will not dissipate.
Vinyl is moderately priced and does not weigh much. It is held in place with an adhesive and mountings. It is easy to clean. The disadvantage is that it can be scratched or gouged easily. There are also peel-and-stick vinyl tiles which are easy to install and easy to clean. The drawback is that the adhesive loosens over time.
Wood flooring is heavy, hard to install and needs to be well maintained. However, it also tends to look the best in an RV. It must be washed and waxed often. If wood flooring gets wet it will warp. Sometimes nails will pop back out after awhile. You must remember that wood is heavy and you need to watch how much weight you carry on an RV's axles.
