How to Hook Up Satellite TV to a Pre-Wired RV

RVing is a comfortable way to travel with all your household perks traveling along with you. One comfort of home you can have in your RV is television. If the weather is bad it's always nice to have your favorite television shows to entertain you when you are stuck inside. It is not difficult to start receiving satellite TV, even if you have the wiring already installed in your RV.

      Climb on the roof using a ladder to mount the satellite dish in the center of the roof.

      Lift the mount up and tighten the bolts on the dish. Aim the dish to the southwest. Most dishes need to face this direction to get a signal (check instructions on your specific model).

      Turn the system on inside the RV. Open the menu on the screen of the TV. Go to the area on the menu with the instructions for aiming the satellite.

      Enter the zip code of the city you are in using the remote. Wait for the next direction to show up on the TV screen.

      Adjust the dish slowly and check the signal inside the RV. Keep adjusting until you get a signal inside the RV. Keep adjusting until you get a signal of at least 90 percent.
