How to Repair an RV Aquamagic Toilet

Traveling in an RV comes with many luxuries you would not experience camping in a tent. One of the most important luxuries is a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. Aquamagic toilets are popular in many RV models. At times during travel you may experience leaking or backup. When problems occur with your Aquamagic toilet, there are ways to troubleshoot it by yourself to repair the problem.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the water pump or water supply, and flush the toilet to empty it. Disconnect the water line and remove the toilet by removing the two bolts holding it to the floor with a wrench.

    • 2

Put a rag over the hole in the floor to stop anything from falling into the black water-holding tank. It will also help prevent odors from the black water tank (this is where all the waste goes).

    • 3

Check that the parts are specific for your Aquamagic toilet. If you have any questions or have misplaced your owners manual, ask an associate at your local hardware or camping store.

    • 4

Refer to the diagrams that come with your parts kit for instructions. This will vary from model to model.

    • 5

Add a quart of water to the tank, if you are replacing seals, to assure that the seal is working. If it holds, you can put the toilet back into the RV.

    • 6

Reinstall the waterline and turn the water on to check for leakages, if you are replacing the water valve. If it doesn't leak, bolt the toilet back down.

    • 7

Replace the rubber seal and floor flange when reinstalling the toilet.
