Remove all old flooring in the camper. Use a shop vac or broom and dustpan to remove all debris and dust.
Use a tape measure to measure the longest and the widest parts of the floor. Get a rough estimate from these two numbers. Cut the sheet of plastic to those measurements.
Make a pattern of the floor. Lay the plastic down, center it, and tape the edge to the floor to secure it. Smooth the plastic over the floor and trim along all the edges and around areas that indent and protrude. When finished, take up the plastic.
Lay the vinyl flooring face up on a large work surface. Place the plastic pattern down on top of the vinyl. Line the plastic up according to the pattern. Once the top edge is centered and aligned, tape it down. Center and align the bottom edge, making sure it is straight with the vinyl's pattern. Secure the plastic and mark around all of the edges using a straightedge and a thin-tipped marker. Cut along the lines with a utility knife, applying enough pressure to cut through the vinyl.
Bring the sized vinyl flooring into the camper. Lay it down, making sure all of the cuts are exact. Open and ready the vinyl adhesive for application. Roll back the flooring halfway. Apply adhesive to that half of the floor. Carefully lay the flooring back down. Gently rub all over.
Turn around. Repeat for the other half of the camper. Allow at least 24 hours for the adhesive to dry and set before allowing people to walk on the new flooring. Use painter's caulk along all of the floor's edges. This creates a water barrier and prevents the floor edge from curling or lifting up.
