Amtrak offers two vacation packages to St. Louis, Missouri, both of which include rail travel to the city. The St. Louis package includes tickets to the St. Louis Arch, as well as two nights of accommodations at either the Holiday Inn Select St. Louis Downtown, which has an indoor pool, hot tub, and gym; or at the Omni Majestic, which offers free breakfast, in-room dining, a restaurant, and a gym. The Vatican Splendors package includes everything offered in the St. Louis package but adds tickets to the Vatican Splendors at the Missouri History Museum. In addition, the Vatican Splendors package also offers the option of two nights of accommodations at the Sheraton St. Louis City Center, which features a gym, sun deck, and indoor pool and whirlpool. These offers are available as of September 2010.
Amtrak's two-night vacation package to New Orleans offers rail travel from Chicago to New Orleans and tickets to Mardi Gras World. The package offers a wide selection of hotel choices, including the Holiday Inn French Quarter, with a gym, a pool, and a restaurant where kids can eat free; the Royal St. Charles hotel, a boutique hotel with original artwork and handmade furniture; the Hotel Monteleone, which offers a rooftop pool and private spa, and is home to the Carousel Piano Bar and Lounge; the Queen and Crescent hotel, which offers a gym, a bar, and a wide range of business amenities; and the Sheraton New Orleans, which features a gym, a pool, a restaurant and a branch of Starbucks.
Amtrak offers two vacation packages to Denver, Colorado. The Denver package includes round-trip rail travel from Chicago and a tour of the city. This package comes with two nights of accommodations at the Comfort Inn Central, which offers a gym, a restaurant, and business services; the Sheraton Denver, which features a concierge level, multiple restaurants and a nightclub, as well as a gym and pool; the Loews Denver, which offers luxury linens and robes, kids' amenities, and the Tuscany lounge and restaurant; and the Oxford Hotel Denver, a boutique hotel with a spa and a McCormick and Schmick's seafood restaurant on-site. The Rocky Mountain National Park tour from Amtrak includes a tour of Rocky Mountain National Park, including Grand Lake and Berthoud Pass, and offers accommodations at the same hotels as the Denver vacation package.
Amtrak's two-night travel package from Chicago to San Antonio, Texas includes round-trip rail travel and tickets to the Imax Theater Rivercenter. Travelers may choose from three hotels: the Hyatt Place San Antonio/Riverwalk, which is only a few minutes walk from San Antonio's Riverwalk, and offers sofa beds in every room, as well as Starbucks, a gym, and 24-hour room service; the Holiday Inn Riverwalk, which features a restaurant with a Riverwalk view where children eat for free; or the Menger Hotel, which was built in 1859 and is located next to the Alamo, and offers a full spa, an outdoor pool and the Colonial Room restaurant.
