How to Check Availability of Train Tickets

Amtrak is the sole commercial rail option available to travelers in the United States. It is owned by the federal government and operates on tracks owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Union Pacific and other major rail freight companies. In addition to visiting an Amtrak station, you can check for the availability of tickets by going on the Internet and calling Amtrak's toll-free number.
