Know which Manchester station you are departing from ahead of time. Some trains to Cambridge will leave from Manchester's Piccadilly Station, while others will leave from Manchester's Oxford Road station.
Tell taxi drivers which specific station you are leaving from. They may assume you are leaving from Piccadilly, and this could cause you to miss your train.
Pick up a local bus schedule from a bus driver or check posted schedules at main bus stops. Manchester has a well-used and well-developed bus system running through town.
Arrive at your departure station with at least 20 minutes to spare.
