How to Identify Marchesini Rims

Marchesini rims are high-quality motorcycle rims made by the Italian manufacturer Marchesini. The factory produced a variety of aluminum and magnesium products initially, and in the second half of the 20th century it added to the product line the now famous lightweight motorcycle wheels. The Marchesini rims are famous within the biker industry because the wheels are lightweight but still very strong. Identifying a Marchesini rim is easy, as they all carry the Marchesini trademarks, by which you can easily identify any Marchesini motorcycle rim.

Place the wheel on a scale. Marchesini rims weight between 6 and 12 pounds on average, depending on the size of the wheel. Front rims are generally lighter and back rims are heavier. If the rim you have is lighter than 12 pounds, chances are it is a Marchesini wheel, but you will need further assurances.

Stand the rim up on a table and look for the Marchesini trademark label. The trademark is the word "Marchesini" preceded by the Italian green-white-red tricolor flag and the specific product name, such as "KOMPE R" or "ESPADA," painted on the edge of the rim.

Look for the rim's serial number if you cannot find the Marchesini sign on the rim. The serial number should be imprinted on the hub of the wheel. Call the Marchesini customer service line at 0039-035-605-2111 and quote the serial number to find out whether the rim you have is a Marchesini rim.
