Interstate cargo trailers are constructed with structural tube steel in the corner posts, vertical wall posts 16 inch on center, z-section cross members and on the bottom sill. The dual 8-inch I-beam construction also provides stability to the trailer. Made from .030 beveled aluminum, the exterior panels come in 11 different colors. Interstate cargo trailers offer two roofing options: aluminum and galvanized steel with an asphalt-based roof tape.
The interior environment of the cargo trailer is protected by the 3/8-inch plywood sidewalls that are treated with a moisture barrier. Vents also provide air circulation throughout the cargo space. For durability, 3/4--inch exterior grade plywood covers the floor of the trailer.
All door openings feature a steel frame. Select models offer steel-framed double rear doors and a 32-inch Camlock side door. The 6 x 14-foot trailer features 15-inch radial or bias-ply tires.
The 12-volt electrical wiring runs through the interior of the trailer. It provides power to the LED tail lights and the weather-tight clearance lights.
The 6 x 14-foot Interstate cargo trailers include a lock-ball hitch and safety chains approved by the Department of Transportation. The trailers feature single and tandem style axles as well as rubber ride torsion and spring suspensions.
