Carson Fun Chaser Trailer Specs

Carson Trailer of Gardena, CA is a manufacturer of sport trailers, work trailers and cargo and car haulers. The company's most famous line of trailers, the Fun Runner -- also known popularly as the Fun Chaser -- can be spotted throughout North America and beyond, offering a place to store extra recreational vehicles inside a space that also easily accommodates a vacationing family.
  1. Pull Front Kitchen Models

    • In 2009, Carson made four hitched Fun Runner models with front kitchens (and full showers) -- the FL, the FC, the XC Extreme and the XL Extreme. The FL is 16 feet long, but it can still sleep six with the addition of an optional queen bed in the back, after what you're hauling back there has been unloaded down the 8-foot rear ramp. The FC is 14 feet long, with a sleeping dinette in the rear for installation after the 7.5-foot rear cargo area has been unloaded of vehicles such as snowmobiles, motorcycles or ATVs. In the XC Extreme, 20 feet of length gives the living area more breathing room, as well as 13 to 21 feet of cargo space for hauling in the back. The XL Extreme is similar to the FL, only with numerous added options, mostly aesthetic considerations inside and out.

    Pull Front Bed Models

    • Five Carson Fun Runners are made with beds up front by the hitch -- the SB, CB, MB, XM and XB -- and each has a unique layout. The SB has a front queen, kitchen and shower all to the right of the door, with room for a variety of other sleeping configurations to the rear. It comes in 23-, 25-, 27- and 29-foot enclosure lengths, depending on your hauling needs. The MB has a full master queen and bath/shower in the front, alongside a full kitchen. It is available in four lengths: 26, 28, 30 and 32 feet. The longest can sleep eight total, with its standard rear dinette/sleeper and an optional rear queen electric loft that lifts above the rear cargo area. The XB and XM models are sportier inside and out, with several added features (see the second link in the References section for a full list of each model's specifications and optional features).

    Pull Front Bath Models

    • The four Carson Fun Runners with bathrooms in front predictably range in sizes and features. The smallest, the 17-by-7 foot FA, wraps a shower and kitchen around the right side of the door, with a dinette that sleeps two before the 74-inch-long rear cargo area that can sleep an extra two with an electric queen stored at the roof. The FDE is a step up in size, with the base model's enclosure on five models from 20 to 32 feet. Cargo-area length ranges from 11 to 23 feet, allowing travelers to comfortably store their loved ones and things all in one secure location. An XD model tricks out the FDE and FDD floor plan with added features and aesthetics.

    Fifth Wheel Model

    • Carson's FT model, a fifth-wheel recreational vehicle, has a queen bedroom above the truck bed, accessible by two steps from the living area. Also right of the door is a fully enclosed shower and closet area and kitchen and pantry. Left of the door is a two-sided dinette/living room/bed area that folds down to sleep four. The cargo area then extends farther another 13.5 to 23.5 feet beyond the rearmost cabinet.
