Open the back doors on the cargo van. Put the ramp securely in place. Have your helper stand in the van. Put the motorcycle in neutral gear. As you push the motorcycle up the ramp, have him grab the handlebars and pull the bike inside. Position the motorcycle so it's centered in the van with the front tire in the wheel chock. Don't put it up on its kickstand. The chock will hold the motorcycle upright.
Secure the handlebars in place using ratchet straps. Slip the loose end of the strap over the left-side handlebar grip. Attach the other end to the floor hook. Then, thread the loose end through the mechanism. Ratchet the strap tight, but not so tight it pulls the motorcycle over. Then, attach another strap to the right-side handlebar grip and attach that to a floor hook; thread it through the mechanism and ratchet it up tight.
Secure the rear of the motorcycle using additional ratchet straps. Slide the loose end over the frame. Attach the other end to the floor hook. Then thread the loose end through the mechanism and pull it over and secure it to a floor hook. Ratchet it up tight. Hold the other side of the motorcycle in place by repeating the process.
Check to make sure the motorcycle is secure before you transport it in a van. Grab the handlebars and the seat of the motorcycle and try to move them side-to-side. If they hold tight, you're ready to go. If they move, loosen the ratchet straps and readjust them.
