Book tickets online via Eurail's Web site, contact Eurail directly via email or call (866) 6-EURAIL to book your tickets and get more information (see Resources).
Find one of the other 5 stations that are authorized to sell tickets as well. Atlantis, Rena Zabasu s.p and Masaa are also railway stations. You may also buy tickets in Erazem and Gaudeamus.
Inform the train company that you would like to travel directly to Italy on the Eurocity Casanova Train. It goes from the Ljubljana station to the Venice Santa Lucia station in 4 hours.
Connect to go onward to other cities via the Venezia S. L. or Venezia Mestre stations.
Show up to one of the 4 Slovenian Train stations that supply tickets to Italy. These include the stations in Ljubljana, the capital, Maribor, Celje and Koper.
Reserve a specific seat when you make reservations. You are obligated to do so.
Expect a comfortable train ride. The train does have air conditioning and there are 30 first class seats available if you wish to travel in style. There are also 134 second class seats in case you can't book a seat in first class.
Access the Internet while traveling. There are electrical outlets on the train for your use and convenience if you bring your laptop with you.
Have a snack on the train, but full meals will not be served. Wait until you arrive in Italy to have a meal at one of the great Italian restaurants or eat before leaving Slovenia.
Find the snack car on the train if your stomach is grumbling and won't quit. This is placed between first and second class on the train.
