Lake Griffin State Park is located just over three miles to the northeast of downtown Leesburg. It is connected to Lake Griffin by a canal where guests can enjoy boating and fishing for largemouth bass and bluegill. The campground is located on the canal and offers 40 campsites that include a partial hookup, picnic table and fire ring. Facility amenities include a dump station, modern restrooms and private showers along with a coin-operated laundry room. Recreational amenities include a playground, hiking trails and canoe rentals. There is a large day use area with a picnic pavilion, open picnic area on the canal and boat launch.

Recreation Plantation RV Resort is located in Lady Lake, Florida less then 8 miles northwest of downtown Leesburg. The full hookup campsites include a concrete pad, patio and picnic table along with a telephone and cable TV hookup. Facility amenities include a post office, coin-operated Laundromat and convenience store as well as private showers and restrooms. Recreational amenities include a billiards room, horseshoe pits and bocce courts. There is an outdoor heated pool, hot tub and sundeck along with a fitness room, playground and tennis courts. Guests also have access to a picnic pavilion and banquet room for special occasions.
