This region offers various campground settings from tent campsites, cabin rentals and RV sites to cottage rentals. Seasonal Florida campgrounds span from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean. These campgrounds open only during specified months or offer accommodations in defined seasons.
  1. Big Bass Campground

    • Situated in Altoona, the Big Bass Campground sits in the southern region of the Ocala National Forest. The campground offers 34 sites for either RVs or tents from October to April. The campground does not have hookups, however, campers can access a waste station and potable water. The camping fee is $10 per day. Dining options within five miles include Pizza Hut and Old Crow Real Pit Bar-B-Q. Stores within a 10-minute drive include Altoona Food Mart and Save-A-Lot.

    Delancy East Campground

    • Delancy East Campground, located in Salt Springs, opens from October to June. The camping fee is $6 a day per licensed motorized vehicle. This campground in the Lake George district of the Ocala National Forest offers 29 campsites and a group tent site. Guests have access to nine RV pull-throughs and hard sand surface parking aprons. Activities available at the nearby Lake George include boating and water skiing. Grocery stores within 10 miles include Salt Springs Grocery and Kangaroo Express. Dining options within 15 miles include Grill Depot, Palms Café Bleu and Square Meal.

    Riverside Lodge Cabins & RV Resort

    • Riverside Lodge Cabins & RV Resort offers seasonal cabin rentals, RV campsites and tent sites. Cabins come with fully equipped kitchens, bathrooms, cable television and air-conditioning. RV sites include cable, full-hookups with 30- or 50-amp electricity, and space for large rigs, while the tent sites have 20-amp electricity, water, a bathhouse and a campfire circle. Amenities include complimentary wireless Internet services. Guests have access to canoe, rowboat and Jon boat rentals. Attractions include the Historic Center of Inverness and Explore the River by Airboat. Dining option within a mile include Subway, Cinnamon Sticks Restaurant and McLeod House Bistro.
