Camping in Lafayette, Louisiana

As the unofficial capital of south-central Louisiana’s Acadiana, the city of Lafayette offers visitors a dizzying blend of the distinctive sounds, smells and tastes that distinguish Cajun culture from all others. Visit Acadian Village or Vermilionville to get a sense of what life was like in a typical 19th-century Cajun village. Sample Cajun or Creole cuisine at one of the city’s many restaurants, both plain and fancy. Or stop in at a music club to listen to zydeco rhythms. If you’re a camper, you can choose from four campgrounds within 12 miles of downtown Lafayette.
  1. Acadiana Park
