Location

• Fairmont Hot Springs is located three hours southeast of downtown Calgary in eastern British Columbia, Canada, nestled between at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and the Purcell Mountain range, adjacent to the Kootenay National Park.

Activities and Attractions

• Windermere Lake and the Columbia River allow year-round fishing opportunities. The Fairmount Hot Springs Resort has three golf courses including the Mountainside 18-hole championship course. A hot pool complex and spa inside the Fairmount Hot Springs Resort are available for an admission fee, or enjoy the therapeutic effects in the free, public Historical Baths and Indian Baths. Hiking, snowshoeing and skiing are popular in this mountainous region.

Climate

• The weather is warmest in the months of May through September when average temperatures linger in the 50s and 60s. Snow sport enthusiasts frequent the region during the months of November through February when accumulated snowfall ranges from seven to 13 inches a month and temperatures range in the teens to mid-20s. Spring-time campers can enjoy a temperate mountain climate that permits golf and skiing in the same day.

Seasonal RV Camping Facilities

• The Fairmont Hot Springs Resort offers 300 RV sites within walking distance of the natural hot pools open from mid-April to mid-October. The facility received a 5W designation from Woodall's, the RV park rating system's highest recognition. Non-serviced and full-service options are available with electric and cable hookups. There is a dumpster, laundromat and public restrooms with showers. Resort accommodations include a playground, fire pit, pavilion, mini golf, trails, tennis and beach volleyball courts.

Year-Round RV and Tent Camping Facilities

• The Spruce Grove Resort has 180 camping sites, many facing the Columbia River, just a few minutes from the hot spring pools. The resort is open year-round and offers a discounted camping rate and ski packages during the winter months. There are non-serviced lots for campers with tents and premium full-service lots available for RVs with water, sewer, cable and electric hookups. The Spruce Grove Resort is pet friendly. Resort amenities include public restrooms with showers, wireless Internet, fire pits, trails, a playground and a seasonal outdoor pool.
