When Desert's Edge RV Park was built years ago, it was on the desert's edge, but now North Phoenix has grown up around it. Amenities include fitness room, basketball court, heated spa and pool. It even has pet grooming areas as guests are allowed two dogs per site as long as they are not dangerous breeds. The RV park, nicknamed the Purple Park, has full hook-ups for RVs; some sites have small storage sheds. Daily, weekly and monthly rentals are available.

McDowell Mountain Regional Park is operated by the Maricopa County Parks Department. It's located just east of Scottsdale in the greater Phoenix area. The park has both developed sites with hook-ups which accommodate RVs and primitive sites with no amenities. It has 76 sites; the RV sites can take RVs up to 45 feet long. Restrooms and showers are available. The south end of the campground has handicapped accessible restrooms.

Usery Mountain Regional Park is located at Mesa in the greater Phoenix area. It also is operated by the Maricopa County Parks Department. It has 73 test and RV sites with hook-ups which can accommodate up to 45-foot RVs. The campground has flush toilets and hot showers. The park offers hiking opportunities, with trails ranging from three-tenths of a mile to three miles.
