Dunedin, Florida, is approximately four miles northwest of Clearwater, Florida, and 18 miles northwest of St. Petersburg. In addition to its proximity to area beach destinations, the town is home to Edgewater and Highlander Parks, the Dunedin Marina and public St. Andrew's Golf Course. Located on the wooded grounds of the Blue Moon Inn, Dunedin RV Resort offer both back-in and pull through camping in RVs and trailers. Those that prefer primitive camping may find Anclote Key Preserve State Park suitable. Accessible only by boat, the campground in on a remotely-located island in the Gulf of Mexico off the shores of Dunedin. Campers may use their own boat or ride on one of the area's ferries, Sunline Cruises or Sponge-O-Rama, to the site. There are no stores or restaurants on the island so campers must bring along all their own food, water, supplies and first aid provisions. The park is known for its bird watching, particularly during the winter, spring and summer months. Camping is free. Reservations are not required for camping at Anclote Key Preserve State Park, but campers must contact the park to check in upon arrival. Pets are not permitted.

Located in Palm Harbor, Florida, Sherwood Forest RV is just five miles from the center of Dunedin. The campground is situated along the Pinellas Trail, a 34-mile stretch popular for biking and hiking. The campground encompasses 13 acres of ground and features a heated, in-ground swimming pool and a private lake for fishing. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the campground, as are showers, bathroom and laundry facilities. The recreation center provides free coffee every morning and music for dancing every night. Sherwood Forest RV rents spaces by the day, week or month. Additional fees are required for more than two people staying at one campsite. Electrical hookup is included only for daily and weekly rental fees.
