Tenkiller is an area in Oklahoma that takes in the 12,000 acre clearwater Lake Tenkiller and 130 miles of its shore line. The area is rich in Native American Cherokee heritage and history. It is named after a prominent Cherokee warrior who was given his name by white soldiers in reference to the 10 notches on his bow. The area offers hiking, fishing, boating and scuba diving.
