Islesboro, Maine is a small island town located 29 minutes from Lincolnville. There are no hotels located on the island, but several can be found in Lincolnville. Islesboro history dates to the late 1600s when an English ship landed on the banks of the island. The island used to have several flourishing inns and hotels, but all have since closed. Guests enjoy the Grindle Point Lighthouse and local events at Alice L. Pendleton Library and various local markets. Visitors must ride the Islesboro Ferry to the mainland before driving to Lincolnville.
