Hotels in El Rama, Nicarauga

El Rama, a city with a population of approximately 15,000, is in eastern Nicaragua between the Atlantic Ocean and the Nicaraguan capital of Managua. El Rama is a quiet destination, one of the lesser-known places for travelers in Nicaragua. Hotel choices in El Rama are somewhat limited, but travelers who are undaunted by minimal accommodations can find lodging.
  1. Back to Basics

    • Hospedaje Velasquez is a very inexpensive, farm-style hostel with very basic amenities. The rooms are simple, offering little more than a bed and a fan. There is no running water at this property, which uses well water. There also are no alarm clocks, but an array of roosters are on hand for wake-up calls. The Eco-Hotel El Vivero features small wooden houses in a wooded setting. The ambience includes wooden floors, beamed ceilings, cable television and air conditioning, with rocking chairs on the front porches.

    More Modern Choices

    • Guests at the Hotel Dona Luisa enjoy good-sized, clean rooms with cable television and fans. The Hotel Dona Luisa is located near bus and boat tours. The Oasis Hotel del Caribe offers smaller rooms than are found at the Hotel Dona Luisa, but in a quieter location. Second-floor rooms at the Oasis Hotel del Caribe open onto a large terrace that offers leaf-filled views.

    Hotel Costa Verde

    • The Hotel Costa Verde offers televisions and private bathrooms, with the property's top rooms including air-conditioning, double beds and cable television. The property has running water as well as complimentary soap and towels, and Hotel Costa Verde also has a bar and a restaurant. The restaurant is considered one of the finest in the city, yet is inexpensive for most travelers. The restaurant specializes in seafood, including hearty soups.

    Bluefields On the Coast

    • Bluefields is a port city of 40,000 residents on the Atlantic coast. The most luxurious hotel in the area is the Oasis Hotel & Casino, which overlooks the harbor. The accommodations include cable television, private baths, minibars, in-room safes, wireless Internet and a buffet breakfast. Room choices include junior suites and presidential suites that include two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining area and full kitchen. The master baths in the presidential suites contain a jacuzzi-style tub.
