Canterbury Hotels

Canterbury is a city in the south east of England. The city has a rich history with many of the medieval buildings still standing. The oldest Cathedral in England is located in Canterbury and was built in 597AD. The city has many luxury hotels and restaurants with many independent retailers as well as high street names.

    • The Falstaff Hotel in Canterbury is within walking distance to the city center and was traditionally a 15th century coaching inn. The 46 hotel rooms are all en-suite and the single rooms have a bath and shower combined with a coffee maker and trouser press. These rooms also have a television and telephone. The superior rooms have the same facilities as the single rooms and have a double four poster bed with fireplaces and wood paneling. The hotel serves a full English breakfast each day and has a bar with an outdoor terrace where guests can enjoy a drink. Although the hotel does not serve evening meals it is happy to recommended one of the many restaurants in the area. The hotel has a private car park which guests use free of charge.

    Cathedral Gate Hotel

    • The Cathedral Gate Hotel was built in 1438 and is situated very close to Canterbury Cathedral. The rooms still have many of the features of the original building including low door frames and sloping floors. Not all of the rooms are en-suite but most have views of the Cathedral. The rooms all have a television and coffee making facilities as well as a hairdryer and telephone. The hotel has an extensive menu of International dishes as well as some traditional English meals such as scampi and chips and cottage pie. Guests can choose to either eat in the dining room or in their rooms. A full English breakfast is also served each morning.

    Abode Hotel

    • The Abode Hotel in Canterbury is located in the center of the city and has 72 guest rooms which are en-suite and have monsoon showers and complimentary toiletries. The rooms have LCD televisions and DVD players. Rooms also have a box of local sweets for guests and the hotel provides 24-hour room service. The Michael Caines Restaurant in the hotel has a seasonally changing a la carte menu to ensure the ingredients are fresh and local whenever possible. The Old Brewery Tavern serves English dishes including sausage and mash and egg and chips in the atmosphere of a British pub.
