Lyndonville is a small village of 1,200 residents in the Town of Lyndon, Vermont. The area, known as the Northeast Kingdom, is home to Lyndon State College and a community fair that has been held since the 1930s. It's also known for scenic sights like covered bridges, skiing, eco-tourism and mountainous terrain. Northeast Kingdom visitors have a number of lodging options in the Lyndonville and surrounding Lyndon and East Burke areas, all of which are within about 10 miles from Burke Mountain Ski Resort, 45 minutes from the U.S.-Canada border and three hours from Boston. Other area attractions include the Kingdom Trails, Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium and Peacham's Snowshoe Farm, which breeds alpacas and features dog sled tours. Nearby restaurants include the Lyndonville House of Pizza, China Moon Buffet, Tim Buk Tu's Bar & Grille, River Garden Cafe and The Pub Outback.
The Wildflower Inn is a 570-acre farm and converted hotel in Lyndonville. Aside from lodging, it offers a petting barn, a seasonal ice skating rink and horse-drawn rides. The Lyndon Motor Lodge in Lyndon is located within two miles of Lyndon State College. Each room features high-speed Internet, cable television and air conditioning. The lodge offers a ski-sleep package at nearby Burke Mountain, which features 45 skiing trails. Rates start at $50 per night, and the lodge offers discounted rates to parents visiting their children at the college. One amenity the Lyndon Motor Lodge lacks is room telephones, but guests can use the phone in the lobby. The facility is nonsmoking and allows pets in designated rooms.
The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a 14-room hotel located on 440 acres of Northeast Kingdom farmland. All rooms include a private bath, country breakfast, afternoon tea and air conditioning. The inn is located in East Burke, about six miles outside of Lyndonville. The inn will host weddings and accommodate large groups in its Willoughby Room, where caterers can provide meals to groups of 50 to 60 people.
The 40-room Colonnade Inn is located in the village of Lyndonville. Rooms include cable television, complimentary local calls, complimentary coffee and donuts, high speed Internet and air conditioning.
