West Glover is home to one family-owned bed and breakfast that is set on hundreds of acres of land, where guests are welcome to stroll the grounds or relax and take in the scenery of the Northeast Kingdom. Maple Manor Bed and Breakfast is set on a 250-acre estate and provides visitors with a hot three-course breakfast and a daily afternoon tea, private baths and Victorian-style rooms. A 60-foot in-ground pool is also available to guests, as well as a marble terrace, equestrian barn and sitting rooms with fireplaces.
Rodgers Country Inn offers guests year-round accommodation close to both Shadow Lake and Crystal Lake. The Inn provides guests with hot breakfasts each morning, and visitors can choose from five guest bedrooms, which all share a bathroom. A game room is also available for entertainment, with table tennis and a television with VCR for guests to use. The inn also provides a more private cabin from June until October for those wanting more privacy. The cabin fits six to eight guests comfortably and also includes a private pond.
Located 13-miles south of West Glover, the family-run Highland Lodge offers guests summer and winter recreational activities with their accommodation. Activities offered include croquet, paddleboats and kayaks in the summer, with sledding, ski trails and snowshoeing during the winter season. A restaurant is on site, serving hot breakfasts, lunch buffets on Thursdays and a daily four-course dinner menu. Suites in the lodge have views of nearby Lake Caspian and can accommodate families of up to five people. Those wanting a little more privacy can opt to stay in one of the cottages located on the hillside above the inn, which range in size from one to three bedrooms.
Just over 28 miles south of West Glover, St. Johnsbury is home to a number of outdoor activities including fishing, skiing and boating. If you are looking to stay in a hotel and don't mind the drive, look to the Comfort Inn and Suites of St. Johnsbury. Guests can enjoy high-speed internet access, cable television, daily complimentary continental breakfast and an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and whirlpool. Burke Mountain is nearby, which offers a skiing area for the outdoors lover and the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium is a 10-minute drive away from the hotel.
