Hotels Near the Talledega Superspeedway

The Talladega Superspeedway is one of NASCAR's premier racing sites. It is 14 miles north of Talladega in central Alabama. Accommodations closest to the speedway are mostly chain motels, with many major national brands represented. Birmingham has accommodations in all price ranges, including luxury high-rises, but it is about an hour from the racetrack. Wherever you stay, book as far in advance as possible for NASCAR event weekends.

  1. In Lincoln

    • Four miles west of the Talladega Superspeedway, Lincoln is the closest town with accommodations. It has quite a few motels along Highway 20, including a Days Inn and a Comfort Inn, and several local operations. Most chain motels in this area offer amenities like complimentary breakfast, wireless Internet and outdoor pools. Staying in Lincoln gives you the opportunity to check out the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, which is three miles from town. There are several restaurants within a half-mile of the motel cluster.

    In Talladega

    • Talladega is 15 miles south of Talladega Superspeedway. It also has a variety of national motel chains, including Holiday Inn Express, Budget Inn and Super 8. Staying in Talladega puts you close to the Talladega Shopping Center, where you can stock up on souvenirs. There is no shortage of fast-food restaurants in the area, but if you are seeking a sit-down meal, the Stampede Steakhouse and Margarita's are less than a mile from where the motels are clustered.

    In Riverside

    • Ten miles west of the speedway in Riverside is America's Best Value Inn. The motel caters to race fans, however, it requires a three-night minimum stay during race weekends. The hotel welcomes pets and has the usual amenities, including complimentary breakfast and an outdoor pool. The Mill Creek Motorcross is five miles from the hotel, and there are several restaurants and sports bars within two miles.

    In Birmingham

    • Birmingham, the closest major city, is about 45 miles from the speedway. If you're looking for something fancier than a motel, staying here will be your best bet. Along with major hotel chains like Hyatt, Doubletree and Sheraton, Birmingham has smaller boutique properties and bed and breakfasts. It also has nearly every national motel chain, so if you need to stay here to be close to the airport know that you'll be able to find affordable options.
