Victor is a small city in central Colorado. Officially established in 1893, Victor was completely swept up in the gold rush of the late 1800s. Today, Victor tells the story of its mining past through its museum and its hiking trails. Victor’s population is fewer than 500, but the town still offers three lodging options.
The Victor Hotel is located in the Historic District of downtown Victor. It was constructed in 1899. Its 20 rooms come with private baths, cable television, high-speed wireless Internet and telephones. Pets are welcome for an additional charge.
The Colorado Trading & Transfer Company maintains and rents the Thompson Cabin, a furnished, two-person dwelling in the city. Daily, weekly and monthly rentals are available. The cabin’s kitchen has a stove with oven, refrigerator, double sink, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot and dishes. There is also a television, full bathroom and outdoor picnic table and benches. No smoking or pets are allowed inside.
The Fortune Club is a restaurant and a liquor store in downtown Victor that also offers rooms for rent. Staying at the Fortune Club puts you in the heart of all Victor has to offer, such as the art galleries, pottery, antique stores, gift shop and museums. Victor's dining establishments include The Lucky Buck Tavern & Restaurant, Gold Camp Bakery, Breon's Custom Cakes and, of course, the Fortune Club's restaurant.
The town of Cripple Creek is approximately five miles to the northwest of Victor and offers many more lodging options. Should the hotels in Victor fail to meet your needs, consider exploring the "Old West" town of Cripple Creek. Lodging in Cripple Creek ranges from cabins to bed and breakfasts and hotels. Many hotels have on-site restaurants, plus there are other, diverse dining options. Try Baja Billy's Restaurant & Cantina, Creations Everlasting Tea Room or Prospector's Perk Coffee House. For recreation, there are 14 casinos, camping, music, outdoor sports and tours available.
