Montchanin is a small community located at the far northern end of Delaware in New Castle County. The town is best known for Montchanin Village, a restored community with buildings dating back to the 19th century. Montchanin Village is also the site of the only hotel in town. Additional lodging, including the famous Hotel du Pont, can be found less than five miles to the southeast in Wilmington.

Brandywine Creek State Park and the Wilmington waterfront are within 10 miles. The Nemours Mansion and Gardens, the former 300-acre estate of famed capitalist Alfred I. du Pont, is nearby. The Widener University School of Law Delaware Campus is less than two miles from the hotel. Additional attractions within three miles include the Concord Mall and Hagley Museum.
