Niwot, Colorado is located in Colorado's Front Range a few minutes outside the cities of Boulder and Longmont. The historical town was founded in the late 1800s and named after an Arapaho Indian chief. The town has rich historical roots encompassing Native American, gold mining and railroad history, and hosts a number of major events throughout the year including Lobster Bash and Nostalgia Days.
Niwot is located seven miles northeast of Boulder and three miles south of Longmont. It is easily accessed via Highway 119 -- the Diagonal Highway -- and is a 45-minute trip from Denver.
