Longlac is in Northern Ontario, about 180 miles from Thunder Bay. It sits off Highway 11. Outdoorsmen frequent the area for the endless possibilities of fishing and hunting. During the winter, the region is ideal for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The Four Winds Motor Hotel sits within five minutes from Highway 11. The hotel offers 30 guest rooms, a conference room and a complimentary breakfast. Some accommodations feature Jacuzzi tubs, king-size beds, queen-size beds and joining rooms. Restaurants within a mile include Longlac Pizzeria and Café Du Nord. The accommodation features rustic furnishings, hardwood flooring and wall paneling.
The Agate Bay Lodge sits along Pagwachuan Lake. The accommodation offers a small kitchen, dining table, spacious sitting area and bunk beds. You are able to fish on the lake which has plenty of perch, walleye and lake trout. The fishing camp offers plenty of opportunities to see eagles fly and hear loons in the night. Things to bring to the lodge include a fishing license, life jacket and fishing equipment.
Hillsport Wilderness Resort is open throughout the year. The resort offers lodging with satellite television, kitchen, patio and a living space. You can go on a black bear hunt guided by a contractor of Bear’s Den. In addition, archery hunts for moose take place in September.
