Teslin is a small community located in the Canadian Yukon Territory. It is situated along the Alaska Highway, at the confluence of Teslin Lake and Nisutlin River. Lodging is fairly spartan in this remote location of the Yukon, however, a few options do exist for travelers who may want to stop while driving the Alaska highway.
The Yukon Motel is open year-long from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m daily. This historic lodge and motel is located right on the Nisutlin Bay with beautiful views of the water. Each motel room includes modern amenities such as satellite TV and private bathrooms. There is a small wildlife museum on the premises and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Yukon Motel has a full-service RV Park, souvenir shop and gas station on the premises.
Dawson Peaks Resort is a full-service motel additionally with three private lakeside rental cabins. All cabins and motel rooms include satellite TV and private bathrooms. Follow the walking trail along the beautiful wooded premises to the scenic and peaceful lake. The main lodge is a historic log structure containing a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Canoe and boat rentals are available; there is a gift shop and camp sites on premises.
The Nisutlin Trading Post and Motel is located right on the Alaska Highway. There is a small general store with an ATM machine and gasoline station on the premises. This is a very small establishment, and not considered a full-service lodge. There are eight motel-type rooms available.
Johnson's Crossing Campground is located 32 miles outside of Teslin. It is primarily known for being an RV park with a cafe and gasoline station on the premises. There is also a laundromat, hot showers and small gift shop.
