Hotels in Karaganda, Kazakhstan

Karaganda is the capital of the Karagandy Province in Kazakhstan and derives its name from the cara-gana bush, which grows abundantly in the surrounding area. There are two main areas, Old Town and New Town. The New Town began in 1934 and has wide streets, parks and building such as the Miners' Palace of Culture. Today there are museums, theaters, and even a botanical garden, and new hotels are constantly being built, offering tourists a wide range of accommodation.

  1. Hotel Sozvezdie

    • Sozvezdie is a three-star hotel, built in 2000, and housing 25 rooms, including suites and apartments. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with all the amenities, including television, mini-bar and telephone. The hotel also offers guests a restaurant, serving a wide range of cultural cuisine, a bar, sauna and jacuzzi, and a disco hall for younger guests. Hotel Sozvezdie is also home to The International Billiard Center, where guests can watch high-level competitions. Next door to the hotel is the Ague Land water park, and the train station is just a short walk away.

    Hotel Meridian

    • This three-star hotel is one of the largest in Karaganda, with 40 rooms, including double, triple, semi-suite and suites. All rooms have a television, Internet access and a refrigerator. The hotel also houses a restaurant, cafe, bar, sauna, fitness center, business center and conference room. Other services offered include a hairdresser, taxi service and laundry service. Located in the very center of Karaganda, the hotel offers easy access to the rest of the city, including the large shopping centers that are located nearby.

    Dostar-Elem Hotel

    • This four-star hotel is also one of the largest in Karaganda, with 41 rooms, including single, double and suites. All rooms are equipped with the usual amenities, including a television and mini-bar. The hotel has a restaurant serving a wide range of cultural cuisine, a cafe for lighter meals, and a bar for after-dinner drinks. The hotel also offers a fitness center, sauna and jacuzzi, pool, billiards room and bowling alley. Other services offered by the hotel include a hairdresser, laundry service, train booking and business center.

    Alatau Hotel

    • This mini-hotel was opened in 2003 and has seven suites, with no standard rooms. Guests stay in either "Paris," "London," "New York," "Tokyo," "Rome," "Stockholm," or "St. Petersburg." All suites have a television and are fully air-conditioned. The hotel also houses a restaurant which serves a range of national, European, and vegetarian dishes, and is open around-the-clock. Located in the center of the town, this small hotel offers easy access to the shopping centers, and convenient transportation to explore a little further afield.
