Opava, a town and district in the northeast of the Czech Republic, has a history dating back nearly 800 years. Opava's population is about 64,000, and the town is mainly industrial. The Hotel Belaria is a few miles outside of Opava in a small town called Hradec nad Moravicí. It is a large hotel in calm surroundings, with good views from most of its suites and double rooms. Its 57 rooms all include color TV and newly renovated bathrooms. There is no Wi-Fi in the hotel, but a common computer is available to guests in the lobby. The Hotel Belaria has an outdoor saltwater swimming pool and an indoor pool and sauna. Rooms range from approximately $60 to $100 U.S., as of January 2011.
Located only a few dozen yards from the Hotel Koruna, the Pension Koruna offers a unique boarding experience in Opava. All of the rooms at the Pension Koruna are apartment-style, and the hotel specializes in long-term rentals. Each room has a small kitchen with a stove top and refrigerator. There are studio apartments or two-bedroom apartments available from about $50 U.S. per night.
